Product Description : Forged aluminum arms. Linear spring design. Dual micro tension adjusters. More clearance cartridge pads. Dimension : 21 - 35mm. They stop real well and have better modulation than a lot of narrow type cantis. With cantis, the performance depends on the setup more than the design. these were a good price and much nicer than the '88 shimano brakes i had on before. First of all this product is miss titled. It's not a "pair" as in front AND back, the "pair" refers to left and right arms of the canti break set.the vendor i bought it from BikeSomeWhere also took there sweet time sending it out. It took about week for them to get it out the door and when they did send it out they sent the wrong color.Besides all that, the CR720's are great canti breaks. easy to install (as far as canti's go), easy to adjust and have a good bite to them when set up right. *note* you must use short pull break levers or road levers for cantilever breaks to work properly. I have some avid speed dial mountain bike levers pair with these breaks and jagwire connecting them.four star breakszero stars for the inconvenience. I have a generic 'cross frame I set up for commuting and short tours (2 weeks or less). It's an aluminum frame and CF fork w/ steel steerer. The frame originally came with Tektro low-profile canti's. The front squealled from day one. I tried all sorts of adjustment, pad cleaning, rim cleaning, and reduced the squeal some, but it always returned. A buddy of mine put the CR720's on his bike and said they worked great on his steel frame/fork.I bought the set and installed and...NO SQUEAL! I think the key feature may be a slight fore-aft offset between left and right shoe. If anyone can confirm this, I'd be interested. Additionally, power and modulation are improvemed. The brakes protrude significantly more than low-profile canti's, so you may want to consider potential interference with rack/panniers, or, on a 'cross bike, the possibility of catching your leg on a dismount.I have pur about 400 miles on them since install and now I do feel some chatter under hard braking, but no noise. I'm guessing I will always have some issue. Much of what I read online indicates this is common with canti's in a CF fork.
